Hanukkah Weekend

Hey everyone,
I (We) just came back from an AWESOME weekend. It was: over-the-top, SMASHING, incredible, EXHILARATING, wonderful.
No, I did not yell at the President for being so incredibly, ahem (cough, cough), not smart, or raise money for the endangered animals, or conquer my fear of deep water, or get an iPod Touch, or learn to dance, or even meet the members of my FAVORITE BAND. Nope, you know what I did? I experienced my first Hanukkah celebration, and, you know what? It was really cool!!!! We have never really done something like this before, so it was all new to me.
Friday night, we went to Passion For Truth to experience their Friday night gathering and enjoy a great night of worship. Matt Hoffmann’s praise group is absolutely wonderful, and watching them praise Yahweh through music is pretty exciting.
We stayed up late and believe me, it was worth it!!!
Saturday morning we attended a Messianic congregation in St. Louis, experiencing their interpretation of Hanukkah celebration. Later that evening, we went to Passion For Truth for the main event:a skit, music, (short) message, dancing and probably my favorite part of all: the lighting of the Hanukkah candles by everyone. It was a beautiful picture, looking out over everyone holding the candles of light in the darkness.

Shock finding: More than 75 percent of all ‘honey’ sold in grocery stores contains no honey at all, by definition (Updated)

(NaturalNews) Just because those cute little bear-shaped bottles at the grocery store say “honey” on them does not necessarily mean that they actually contain honey. A comprehensive investigation conducted by Food Safety News (FSN) has found that the vast majority of so-called honey products sold at grocery stores, big box stores, drug stores, and restaurants do not contain any pollen, which means they are not real honey.

For the investigation, Vaughn Bryant, one of the nation’s leading melissopalynologists, or experts in identifying pollen in honey, and director of the Palynology Research Laboratory at Texas A&M University , evaluated more than 60 products labeled as “honey” that had been purchased by FSN from ten states and the District of Columbia .

Bryant found that 76 percent of “honey” samples purchased from major grocery store chains like Kroger and Safeway, and 77 percent of samples purchased from big box chains like Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart, did not contain any pollen. Even worse were “honey” samples taken from drug stores like Walgreens and CVS, and fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and KFC, 100 percent of which were found to contain not a trace of pollen.

So what is all this phony honey made of? It is difficult to say for sure, as pollen is the key to verifying that honey is real. According to FSN, much of this imposter honey is more likely being secretly imported from China , and may even be contaminated with antibiotic drugs and other foreign materials.

Most conventional honey products have been illegally ultra-filtered to hide their true nature

According to FSN, the lack of pollen in most conventional “honey” products is due to these products having been ultra-filtered. This means that they have been intensely heated, forced through extremely tiny filters, and potentially even watered down or adulterated in some way prior to hitting store shelves.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) holds the position that any so-called honey products that have been ultra-filtered are not actually honey. But the agency refuses to do anything to stop this influx of illegitimate “honey” from flooding the North American market. It also continues to stonewall all petitions to establish a national regulatory standard for verifying the integrity of honey.

Ultra-filtering eliminates and destroys all medicinal properties of honey

Assuming that there is any real honey at all in the phony honey products tested by FSN, the removal of pollen and other delicate materials via ultra-filtering renders them medicinally dead. Raw honey is a health-promoting food that can help alleviate stomach problems, anemia, allergies, and other health conditions. Ultra-filtered honey is nothing more than a health-destroying processed sugar in the same vein as white table sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

The good news is that all of the honey products FSN tested from farmers markets, food cooperatives, and “natural” stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, were found to contain pollen and a full array of antioxidants and other nutrients. Local beekeepers are another great source of obtaining raw, unprocessed, real honey.

Song Explanation

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all are doing well. I am really sorry to have taken so long to write a blog post.
With just coming back from the Feast and getting caught up with schoolwork and computer work, and also preparing the house for guests, I have been very busy. However, here I am now. J
So, a while ago, a friend asked me to write explanations on the songs off our new CD “Judgment Day.”
Here they are, probably not in order:
Judgment Day:
The title track on the CD was written by my sister Sarah. It is about the trials of this life and how they don’t compare to Judgment Day.

Memory of a Sister:
This song was written in memory of Sister Mil Mansager by my mother, Luann Avalos. She wrote the songs using memories of her (Mil’s) dedication to the Father and her family, and also to the brethren, guiding them in a motherly way.

The Untitled Chapter of Life(Heart):
I wrote this song, also in memory of Sister Mil, but in slightly different way. The reader’s standpoint is seeing what she was to others and how they felt about her, the emotions of her death affecting us all.
It was hard writing this song, as I remembered the fond moments I had with her during my life. It also helped me to release my feelings though.

Heart 2.0:
As you all can see, the above song was named “Heart”, so I named this song Heart 2.0.
I wrote this song differently from the ones before it, applying abstract mannerisms to a person struggling with their faith. It is written from the author’s perspective to the person struggling.
There is a shift from the masquerade he/she hides behind to sins being forgiven and having a white heart, pure and blameless.

Again:
Dad wrote this song about driving to work, his thoughts began to drift off to things of the world, and the song is an expression of getting his thoughts back to Messiah.

Barriers:
I wrote this song describing barriers people struggle against to get through to the other side, and how they have broken them. It is a fairly easy song to grasp, at least in my opinion. J

You and I:
“ You and I” was the VERY first song I wrote by myself, Yahweh included, of course. It is a description of a relationship between me and Yahweh. This song was very personal, and is written from my perspective on that period of my life.

Show Us Now:
My sisters and I wrote this song together one day. We took the example of Ruth and her faithfulness to Yahweh and Naomi. Then, the chorus asks Yahweh to show us how to be like her, faithful and trusting of a better lot in life, yet never wavering.

Career choices……

Hey ya’ll,

So, the Feast is over. Now comes the holiday shopping for the masses. The
stores are more crowded then usual. Halloween has passed (finally!) and shelves
hold the newest arrivals, the latest must-haves for Chr-stmas. Thanksgiving
turkeys go on sale, and calendars are marked for Black Friday. All this fuss
for a few holidays. Yeah, after that is New Year’s Day, then Valentine’s Day,
then Easter. The whole cycle repeats itself. I wish there would be a Feast of
Tabernacles every month. It’s so nice to be removed from the world and immersed
in a spiritual state, filled with our own fellowship and worship of a real
deity.

Sigh….. Why is the majority so dumb? Why do they accept the lies, fed to them
day after day? Why bother with traditions when one can know the cold, hard
truth? That’s exactly what it is. It gets worse every year as the leaders get
more corrupt, people tamper more with creation, and we get closer to the End
Days.

As I get closer to college age and legal adulthood, my mind starts to wander to
the type of person I want to be when I’m older. Do I want to be the next Sally
or Bob, working night hours at the local fast-food joint to support myself? Or,
possibly, I could be the latest and greatest miracle worker or Know-It-All of
the modern age. Do I want to stick out or blend in?

All these questions relate to my career choice; a choice that could affect my
life, the lives of those around, and even ones on another continent, plagued by
sickness, starvation, and left with no hope to continue a fruitful life. I have
considered being a musician, but quickly realized that I need more education
than just that.

Being a musician would be great, but it is not a reliable source of income. People dictate what your next turn in life is. They decide whether you will be able to produce new cd’s, travel world tours, or even own a house. It’s their choice to choose whether they like your music or not. You can’t force them into buying a new release or a ticket to
your concert. That’s the problem with the arts. You can be the most creative
person in the world, but if someone doesn’t like what you have to offer, there
goes all chances of providing for a family or even yourself. I’ve always wanted
to work with media: produce music videos, create music, be a musical engineer,
be a photographer, even be the subject of media like dancing, acting, field
reporting, hosting a show, etc. However, all of these choices rely on what the
public wants. They want to know what you’ve got to offer. If they don’t like
it, they’ll move on.

However, it’s the exact opposite when you choose something that someone needs.
I could follow after my Mom’s footsteps and work in the medical field.
Seriously, there are like so many choices in that one choice alone. Nursing, pharmaceutical
supplies, or even inventing the world greatest Band-Aid that truly doesn’t hurt
to peel off; those would be awesome. Or, I could work in alternative medicine,
healing people free of drugs and medical care, but that would also mean I would
have the government trying to control me.

On the opposite side, I could be like my Dad and work in technology. The way
computers work have always kind of fascinated me, though more often than not I
want to take an axe and smash them to smithereens. J Technology is always improving, and a really fun job would be a technology critic, always working with the latest and greatest gadgets and pointing out everything that goes wrong, which I am also great at.

You never know, I could surprise everyone and go into construction or nuclear
energy. Or even, I could be the leader for world peace and pass laws advising
everyone to use fewer natural resources and ban unhealthy choices. Not that
anyone would mind, right? We don’t already have enough laws controlling what we
do, where we go, what we eat and how we live our lives. (Insert Cheshire cat
grin here)

Wow, it’s amazing all the different choices I have for education, and to think
I have to narrow it down by the end of high-school. Well, seems I have a lot
more thinking to do,

3 Cheers for the Feast of Tabernacles :)

Hey everyone,
How are you all doing? I am doing great, awesome, super……….. Any other words to describe the euphoric feeling of having a great Sukkoth?
Yup, my Feast of Tabernacles 2011 was fabulous. It was 9 days filled with fellowship, fun, food, and more fun. (I have to say, that food was awesome, especially the desserts) Even better were the people we met, or might have met last year but forgot about them; the truth is: I didn’t get bored. I brought things to do in case there was a lot of free time, but my friends and I made up our own fun. We rented a golf cart for the week, which was an extremely good idea, considering how many trips we made back and forth, and raced with the other golf cart on the campground. Then there was the indoor fireplace s’mores, an idea I came up with since the adults didn’t want to embrace the cold outdoors and everyone else was out canoeing. We didn’t go personally, a choice I am quite happy with, but another person got some good pictures of the trip. There were services everyday, and a Youth service one of those days. Who knew tired teenagers were so hilarious? We stayed up ’til midnight or past both nights practicing for the Youth service, and it was really fun. The assembly rented a bounce-house one of the days, and both the kids and the youth got a chance to jump in it. There was lots more, but I got plenty of pictures, so, take a look!!!! I may have a short memory, but media can take care of that. Oh! Did I mention the plays that the kids and youth starred in? Those were great also. I love it when stories end with happily ever after.

How was everyone else’s FOT? I caught a lot of things going around, ya know, stuff like love and happiness, feasting and blessings, spiritual guidance and fellowship. I would like to pass it on to you all out there. Here you go………………

Hey everyone,
I hope you all have a great Feast of Tabernacles this year, or Sukkoth …….

I finished another grade!!!!! And for the record, so has my younger sister. We had a little celebration and I made a red velvet/dark chocolate cake with chocolate and vanilla frosting. It had four layers, and Hannah helped me with it. It was pretty fun, though Sarah did find out about it. She thought it was for the neighbor. Hehehehe
We visited the Lewis and Clark museum in St. Louis, MO. (I think that was what it was called) I took a lot of pictures, especially of the flowers, and I’ll post them soon to see what you think of them.

Happy Feast of Trumpets!!!

I hope you all have a blessed Feast of Trumpets, and that Yahweh will lead you in your plans for the next two feasts coming up. It seems we start waiting from the end of one Feast to the start of the next, and finally it’s here. The new moon was confirmed tonight in several places across the Continental USA, although we personally did not see it. Praise Yahweh, though; that someone else did!!! I am sure most of you all know this is a very important moon to sight.

Also a note to keep in your mind: Please keep Catherine Shattke in your prayers. She is having some major health issues and needs our prayers.
